Q: Who the heck attaches a Lockheed F-104 Starfigher jet to the side of a building? A: Ghery does. Enough said.    

The Air and Space exhibit building at the California Museum of Science and Industry [link] was designed by Frank Gehry [link] and located in Los Angeles, California. The building was completed in 1984.
